Do you add lanes for Behavior in your journey maps or service blueprints?

I have been getting lots of questions from service, product, and innovation people on how to embed and design for both behavioral barriers and solutions/interventions.

So, I want to know if more people out there have been mapping this on their journeys using COM-B or anything else, and what challenges or wins you have had, as I want to create an extension of our behavioral design board to cover this.

In the board Elina Halonen and I are creating we don't go really deep into this, as in my view this should deserve its own board with a much deeper explanation and detail (we also don't have all the details from the case to do so), but we do account for how to map the behavioral barriers using COM-B and how to, later on, add some lanes for your solutions or interventions and how they address behavioral barriers.

The swim lanes in the image can be greatly expanded, of course, depending on your needs(actors, systems, metrics etc..), and the maps themselves can have many levels of zooming in and out (different lanes for different stakeholders)

Appreciate your help and am happy to have a call with those who are interested in sharing.

Once we are done with the big board we will select one team and run 4 -90 minute sessions/workshops covering COM-B and applying Behavior Design to a real challenge - completely free!, no strings attached aside from feedback :)... (we will announce more probably next week)- also we want to run one session with an extra team on the behavioral journey mapping part alone.

If you are interested Olga Elizarova and Paul Kahn wrote a paper on how they look at journey mapping using COM-B - ill link in the description
