The UK gov has released an AI Opportunities Action Plan.
They write that AI adoption can help transforming services, enhancing experiences, and boosting productivity.
The report also mentions that by strengthening data, skills, talent, and trust measures, the government can lead as both a major user and enabler for private sector AI adoption.
While still early in AI’s application, solutions for sectors like health, education are already showing promising progress.
Some examples they highlight:
-AI assistants saving 20% of employee time (e.g., reducing teacher workload).
-AI enhancing diagnostics (e.g., faster lung cancer detection in the NHS).
-AI improving assessment accuracy in education (92% in pilot studies).
Remember that with any new technology, we need to make sure we think about how it will apply by sector and context - as needs and drivers will be different.
This work on adoption will be key, and one that cannot be a one size fits all.
Anyways - have a look if curious
