Need to identify barriers for a specific behavior you are trying to enable in your employees or customers?
This could be, for example, enabling your employees to share more of their ideas with their teams to increase innovation or enabling your customers to use a service you provide that they have been ignoring.
The tool is based on the COM-B model of behavior change and includes cards with 20 common behavioral barriers (or enablers)
The tool called is called the Barrier Identification Tool and was created by The Behavioural Insights Team (you can find it on their website), it will help you discover and overcome some of the hurdles that might be hindering a desired behavior and outcome.
Just remember, using the COM-B model is not the end of your behavioral work, it is just the beginning, so please don't just stop there and go with your gut, you need to follow the process and evidence to implement the behavior change techniques that are appropriate to test your hypothesis.
