Many in the industry, including other consultants, told me not to release my framework for free, as others could use it to copy my work - to which I thanked the advice, but did not follow it.
My intention in speaking about and sharing my experiences and knowledge about how to work with human centered behavioral science was so that I could help designers, innovators and change makers achieve better outcomes for their customers and employees.
Using behavioral science to help me analyze the challenge or opportunity has provided a very unique advantage, however it is not because I am a behavioral scientist purely, it is because I came from innovation and design myself.
Doing the diagnosis or analysis is but one piece of the puzzle, you have to take those insights you gain and translate them into actual workable solutions for the people you are helping.
Behavioral Science is also there to evaluate and re-evaluating current solutions. (This is a big opportunity - you don't have to always create things from scratch, you can use the insights to understand why things may not be working as intended, and suggest changes.)
I am by no means the only one sharing insights, knowledge, and ways of working, other organizations like UN, WHO, The Behavioural Insights Team, Busara, UCL, and many other organizations and people are also sharing their ways of working and hopefully inspiring others (as they did to me in the past) to get curious and experiment, get sharp and then also share.
My goal is to continue to create and share new tools that we use and test at Aim For Behavior to give you inspiration. (currently we are working on culture change tools that will soon come out)
Thanks as always for your wonderful feedback and support, Robert
