Just because you can design an idea in second does not mean you should...
You have to remember that before you create anything that is going to focus on enabling behavior to reach better customer or employee outcomes - you need to spend time understanding the needs and the behaviors of the people.
You need to focus not only on the behaviors and engagement in the product, but also about those behaviors that happen outside the product as well.
Blending the theories and models of behavior with technology can help us get to good outcomes faster for sure - I have been testing this myself and can prototype solutions to test that have been thought out, that have intentional features and mechanics that are meant to motivate and help make progress.
That work does not come from just my gut feelings, it comes from doing a good analysis and then using those insights to select the most appropriate techniques that need to of course be contextualized and translated into that idea for the AI tool to help you.
Moving fast is not about taking action for action sake, it is about being systematic and scientific - and of course creative so that you can deliver the solutions that will have the most impact for those you are working with and for.
If you are curious about the image, it was taken at my office as I was filming the final parts to my new course on how to design with behavior change techniques which launched today :)
Here I am using the theory and techniques tool - the heat map you see on the left to help me select the behavior change techniques to overcome the behavioral barriers in my analysis.
On the right side is a tool called Lovable that lets you create quick prototypes that can have the techniques that you want incorporated, so you can test them with customers and employees and see how they are using them and if they are meeting the goals they were set out to meet.
It is quite promising that tools like this exist, but remember you still need to put in the work beforehand so that the input you give the AI and the output you get are the ones that are intended - and not just something pretty that will miss the mark.
The more you understand how to think about the things that influence behavior and the tools and techniques you have at hand to build your hypothesis, the better it will be for you.
Remember, fast only happens when you have put in the work prior....
