FREE FIVE-DAY EMAIL DIAGNOSTIC

Is your change plan behavior-ready?

Use one real project to name the behavior the change depends on, map what happens now, and plan one evidence check before you decide what to change.

Grounded in behavioral and implementation science

5 lessons
one lesson by email each day
1 live project
use the same case across all five lessons
1 two-page working brief
plus a separate completed example in Lesson 5

WHY THIS EXISTS

A rollout can finish before the work changes.

Use the five emails to examine one live project. You will name the action it needs, describe what people do now, turn one explanation into a possible reason, and plan how you would check it.

  • One live project

Bring a change you are working on now. Every lesson uses that same case.

  • Five connected lessons

Each email gives you the next step, so you can build on what you wrote the day before.

  • A working brief you can use

By Lesson 5, you will have a two-page mini Adoption Conditions Brief to help you prepare for a conversation with the senior leader who owns the change.

The emails are short. The work takes longer. Lessons 3 and 5 are deliberately heavier because you will sort what you already know and pull the brief together.

THE FIVE-LESSON ROUTE

Build the brief one step at a time.

  1. Lesson 01: Name the behavior

Record the project and business outcome, then write the target actor, the observable action, and where and when it should happen.

  2. Lesson 02: Map the current way

Describe what people do now, who relies on it, what it makes easier or safer, and the roles that affect whether the target behavior can happen.

  3. Lesson 03: Name one possible reason

Turn the explanations you have heard into one specific hypothesis. Record the evidence you already have, where it came from, and how strong it is.

  4. Lesson 04: Choose how you'll check it

Plan what you would observe, inspect, or ask. The check should be able to support your explanation or show you that it needs to change.

  5. Lesson 05: Complete the mini brief

Name the trace that would show the target behavior happened, answer the sponsor question, then compare your work with the separate completed example.

WHAT YOU LEAVE WITH

A mini Adoption Conditions Brief for one real project.

The brief records the target behavior, what people do now, the roles that shape the work, one possible reason for the gap, the evidence you already have, and one plan for what to check next. It gives you something concrete to use when you prepare for a sponsor conversation.

THE WORK PRODUCT

See the two-page working brief you will build.

Lesson 1 gives you the blank, fillable working brief. Save one copy and add to it after each lesson. Lesson 5 gives you a separate completed example to compare only after you have finished your own version.

This is a self-run first pass. It is not the full course toolkit or the complete Adoption Conditions Brief.

Name the target behavior, map the current way, and note the roles that shape whether the behavior can happen.

Three months from now, how would we know this is working? The brief helps you answer with the target behavior, the trace you would inspect, and the next evidence check you plan to carry out.
