π Unlocking the Power of Behavior Change π A few months ago, I found myself intrigued by the psychology of human behavior. As someone deeply invested in enhancing learning experience for adults at NestlΓ© I couldnΒ΄t help but wonder, "How can we drive more meaningful change in peopleΒ΄s habits and behaviors?" My curiosity led more to dive deep into this fascinating subject, and what a journey it has been!
π Elevating Knowledge Through Books & Training π A couple of weeks ago, I invested in two game-changing books: "The Behavior Change Wheel" and " Engaged: Designing for Behavior Change." These books have been instrumental in broadening my understanding of how human behavior works and how it can be influenced effectively.
To take my expertise to the next level, I recently completed the training "Behavior Design Basics" from Aim For Behavior.
π‘ Key Learnings π‘ 1οΈβ£ Defining Behavior and Context: Understanding the WHAT and the WHERE of the behavior you want to change. 2οΈβ£ Com-B Model: A comprehensive framework for dissecting the sources of behavior into three core components - Capability, Opportunity, and Motivation. 3οΈβ£ The Behavior Change Wheel: An integrative guide for designing and tailoring interventions to induce a desired behavior change. 4οΈβ£ Selection of Behavior Techniques: Out of approximately 93 techniques, learning how to select the most appropriate ones for a given context has been eye-opening.
π€ Personal Thoughts π€ I believe the essence of behavior design lies in its applicability. It's not just theory; itβs a toolkit for real-world change. As someone who is focused on educational development, applying these principles can offer a unique pathway to create more engaging and effective learning experiences.
After all, arenβt we all influenced by behaviors, whether they are our own or those of the people around us?
