Should your company or team build and design habits?
We as individuals have many habits, some good and some not so good.
We try and lose weight, use less social media, work out more. We succeed sometimes and fail many more.
We are also surrounded by habit forming products (think Instagram, Tik, Tok, Email, Linkedin etc..)
To create a habit, as I have seen, you need the right framework and system to help you succeed ( think triggers, cues, motivation, ability, routines and rewards)
In addition you need to make sure they are easy, visible, attractive, social, obvious.
Without purposely designing habits, our chances of success will be low.
Yet, as I speak with people, as I have worked on projects and digital transformations, I have yet to see anyone talk about how to change or create habits for the company, the teams and the employees who are working there, so they can succeed.
More organizations would benefit from habits if they embraced them and made them a priority.
I am deeply intrested in helping teams build the right frameworks and use the right tools to build great habits in their companies.
If you are also interested, here are some habit books I’m currently using to build frameworks and future training workshops ( any I’m missing that can add more to Habits?)
