Real AI adoption is about understanding the drivers of behavior…
This not only applies to AI but to most things that we are trying to do.
There will always be things that make it easier or harder to do a behavior, to adopt a technology, to get a better outcome.
If you don’t understand how to systematically analyze behaviors that you may struggle to get people to move forward, no matter how good you think your technology is or how much you think it is going to help someone.
If you want to be more systematic, you can use behavioral models like COM-B, ISM, TDF etc…
These models will help you sort the insights you have so you can address them in your solutions.
Let’s think about it from the COM-B model
Your customers or employees may have limited understanding of how AI can benefit their roles or improve workflows. (Capability)
They may have time constraints preventing them from learning and experimenting with AI tools. (Opportunity)
Or they may fear job displacement (Motivation)
Each of these influences once classified into a model can help you be systematic and precise about the solutions you put forward.
If not then you can build good solutions to the wrong problems.
We don’t lack ideas, strategies, features or solutions… what we lack is knowing what to use them on.
There are lots of free resources available to learn this…
They inspired me to take them and make them practical to apply in organisations…which means you can do the same!
I can’t offer you any generic strategies to work on, as each organisation has their own context and influences… also do remember that (don’t copy strategies with doing your analysis)
