How can focusing on Behaviors help you achieve your objectives?

It's a crucial element that often gets overlooked, and it's something we need to communicate better to organizations.

In the past, I've worked with OKRs and other goal-setting frameworks, and I've realized that setting ambitious goals is only half the battle.

We also need to focus on the behaviors and add them to the frameworks, because they are there to help us achieve those goals.

To illustrate my point, let's take the example of creating a first post on a platform by the first week of using it.

That's a specific action that a team might want its customers to do.

However, for the customer to do this behavior, several steps need to happen beforehand.

1) The team needs to ensure that the interactions with the customer are designed to make it easy for them to post the image.

2)They also need to consider the context of the customer and the psychological and logistical factors that could influence their decision and remove the barriers or enhance the enablers

In essence, we need to consider designing with behavior in mind to achieve our objectives successfully.

By focusing on behaviors as well, we can enhance the customer experience, add value, and reduce the risk of delivering the wrong thing.

In summary

Helping teams and customers achieve their goals by using behavior (when the solution required behavior) is a great way to enhance the experience, add value and decrease the risk of delivering the wrong thing.

What do you think? can we add OKR+B?
