The reason I shy away from Habits is because I feel they are misunderstood.

Here are 2 books and a Journal to help inspire your weekend.

The books:

1) Atomic Habits by James Clear: This is a popular book, and while I am less inclined to talk about habits, it is well written and has some great insights.

The reason I shy away from Habits is because I feel they are misunderstood. In general, I like routines over habits, because, while habits may be the holy grail, they are very hard to build and most often they get confused with routines. If you focus on routines you can design for them and get better results.

2) A Path Through the Jungle by Professor Steve Peters It is a book to help you develop robustness and resilience. It explains in straightforward terms the neuroscience of the brain 🧠 and it gives you exercises to follow, practice, and build upon - (as a disclaimer I have not finished all of it, as it is a quite large book)

Some exercises you can find:

a) Finding the real you: Take a blank piece of paper and write down the characteristics of the ideal person that you would like to be.

b) Recognizing which part of your brain is leading (the chimp or the human)

Understanding how your brain works and that of your customers and employees, will give you the knowledge you need to then apply behavioral science techniques and psychology tools to help enable and achieve better outcomes.

3) The Journal:

Atomic Habits Journal

In my quest to learn and research topics, I bought The Atomic Habits Journal by James Clear a few months ago.

It is a very nicely made journal, and has a few things I liked:

1. The one line per day - an easy way to keep a daily journal (low friction, write just highlights in one line)

2. Toolkits - including decision-making and prioritization, which you can build yourself

So, while I used the journal more for research purposes, it is a nice journal if you want to have a way to write and keep track of your thoughts.

Hope these are helpful...
