Do you use any tools to build habits for yourself?

To build habits, you need systems to help you.

For the last month I have been focused primarily on mindfulness (but not exclusively), and I picked a few habits I wanted to build more purposefully.

These are focused on

Non-Work -Yoga -Mindfulness Practice -Meditation -Balance -Alcohol

Work -Behavioral Reading -Frameworks/ Writing

To build habits takes time, and practice.

I chose to only have a few as I wanted to ensure I could succeed at them. (Maybe I have too many, but had to see what worked)

I would recommend anyone new to start with just 1 or 2.

I don’t do all of them all the time, and that’s ok, but I do them often enough to build the muscle in my brain and to create a memory and a reward.

Last week I got a reminder to do some of my habits, it was late and had not even remembered (life gets in the way) - but the nudge helped and I did a few - without the tool, I would have just skipped them.

I’ll be experimenting all year on this, seeing which stick, which change and how the tool keeps helping.

Have you thought about using them with your employees to help them build better habits?
